I'm Kassandra, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with experience since 2015 and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Boise State University. I specialize in medication management and supportive therapy for mood disorders, including Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, PTSD, Anxiety, and OCD. I am licensed in Oregon and Washington and offer telehealth
appointments to best fit your needs.

I believe that quality mental health care is built on compassion, collaboration, and evidence-based practice. My goal is to work alongside you as a true partner, helping to reduce or eliminate the symptoms that make daily life feel overwhelming. I have a special interest in mood disorders and trauma, and I am passionate about supporting individuals through the complexities of emotional regulation challenges. I typically work
from home, where my dogs are usually curled up somewhere nearby — a small but genuine reminder that care, warmth, and a little comfort go a long way. I am currently accepting new patients ages 18–60 via telehealth and look forward to meeting you!

Note: Kassandra provides primarily telehealth appointments, with a once yearly REQUIRED in person visit in our offices in SE Portland.  Clients must be able to come to this once yearly appointment. While in office, Kassandra works with her dog, Natsu who is trained as a therapy dog and Canine Good Citizen certified .  If you have pet allergies or other concerns, let us know and we will make arrangements for Natsu and meet in a separate space during your appointment.

Kassandra is currently accepting OHP/CareOregon, Jackson Care Connect, and Columbia Pacific insurance plans. We are actively working to expand our network and look forward to accepting additional insurance plans, including commercial insurance, in the future.

â€‹At Health Allies Counseling, we know that medication decisions are personal. That's why we offer two different paths to prescriber support — each grounded in a different philosophy of care. Understanding the difference can help you choose the provider who feels right for where you are today.

Kassandra Ransom, PMNHP

Kassandra is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. PMHNPs are trained specifically in psychiatric diagnosis and medication management, using conventional pharmacology as a primary tool alongside a holistic understanding of a client's psychological, biological, and social needs.

Her approach may include:

  • Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and diagnosis

  • Medication management for conditions like depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and more

  • Ongoing monitoring and adjustment of psychiatric medications

  • Coordination with your therapist for integrated care

Kassandra may be a good fit if you:

  • Have moderate-to-severe symptoms that are significantly impacting daily life

  • Have a diagnosed condition (like bipolar disorder or ADHD) that typically benefits from medication management

  • Want a provider whose primary focus is psychiatric medication

  • Are already taking psychiatric medication and need ongoing management or adjustment

Dr. Kaitlynn Bronte, ND — Naturopathic Medicine

Dr. Bronte approaches mental health through a naturopathic lens: treating the whole person, not just the symptom. Naturopathic medicine looks at how nutrition, sleep, movement, gut health, hormones, and lifestyle factors interact with mood, anxiety, and stress — and often starts by addressing those foundations before introducing pharmaceutical medication.

Her approach may include:

  • Nutritional and lifestyle assessment

  • Botanical and supplement-based support

  • Addressing underlying physical contributors to mental health symptoms (thyroid, hormones, nutrient deficiencies, etc.)

  • Collaborative planning that may still include conventional medication when appropriate

Oregon naturopathic physicians hold one of the broadest prescriptive scopes of any state — Dr. Bronte is licensed to prescribe most pharmaceutical medications when clinically indicated. The distinction isn't "medication vs. no medication" — it's where she starts and how she builds a treatment plan.

Dr. Bronte may be a good fit if you:

  • Want to explore nutrition-, lifestyle-, or supplement-based approaches before considering medication

  • Have mild-to-moderate symptoms and want a more gradual, whole-body approach

  • Are curious whether physical health factors (sleep, gut health, hormones) may be contributing to how you feel

  • Feel hesitant about medication and want a provider who will walk through non-pharmaceutical options first

Not Sure Which to Choose?

You don't have to get this exactly right on your own — both providers work closely with our clinical team, and it's common for a plan to evolve over time (for example, starting with Dr. Bronte's approach and later adding Kassandra's support, or vice versa).

As a general guide:

  • Curious, cautious, or want to try non-medication approaches first? Dr. Bronte is a great place to start.

  • Dealing with more severe symptoms, a diagnosed psychiatric condition, or currently in crisis? Kassandra's medication-focused expertise may get you relief faster — and is the safer starting point when symptoms are significant.

If you're ever in crisis or having thoughts of harming yourself, please call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) right away rather than waiting for an appointment.

Still unsure? Reach out to our front desk — we're happy to help match you with the right provider based on a quick conversation about what you're looking for.
