"The most important thing we can do

for the healing of the world

is to hear inside ourselves"

- Thich Nhat Hanh

Hello, I am Madalyn (she/her) and I am here to support you in your personal healing and growth journey.

Therapy is a transformative process. It is one in which we begin to take off the masks that we are afraid of living without but know we cannot live within. Together, we will gently remove old and new masks, allowing for the opportunity to get to know your  inner Self. The Self is our inner being, our truth, our soul, our anchor, who often gets hidden away due to traumatic experiences, fears, and others’ expectations. Through witnessing how personal challenges - past and present - can impact individuals in distinct ways, I have grown increasingly passionate about helping others reconnect with life through Self-discovery. I use a person-centered, trauma informed approach that recognizes and respects you, in all of your glorious uniqueness. I work to create a space where you can safely explore, cultivate presence, practice inner resourcing, and live in greater alignment with your inner Self.

I hold a Master of Social Work degree from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Bachelor of Social Work degree from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I am trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and I frequently draw from Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment Theory, and other trauma-informed practices to meet your specific goals. I support individuals in listening to their body’s wisdom and transforming their inner landscape by exploring personal narratives, beliefs, memories, automatic responses, thought patterns, and more. I also enjoy incorporating meditation and somatic practices to allow for connection with the mind, body, and spirit.

I look forward to connecting with you soon!

About Me:

In my free time you can find me practicing in the yoga studio, browsing local thrift stores, spending time in nature/hiking, somewhere with live music, or hanging out at home with my partner, our dogs + cat, a good book, and a cup of coffee. I also enjoy painting, pottery, and film photography for fun. Others have described me as gentle, caring, passionate, and creative.
