About Rebecca

Hi! My name is Rebecca O'Shea.

Do you find yourself feeling anxious, low energy, overwhelmed, or angry? Do you feel disconnected in your relationships? Would you like someone to explore your feelings, values, and experiences with? If so, you may benefit from talking in a supportive space. Too often, we feel we have to suffer alone in silence, or worry that our pain may burden our loved ones. I'm passionate about bringing a healing light to dark spaces and would be honored to join you on your journey.

My approach to counseling is grounded in collaboration. I will honor you as the expert of your life and meet you with compassion. Together we can explore your needs, desires, and strengths to empower you to create the life you'd like to live.

I have a passion for working with people who have experienced trauma or abuse, who are looking to explore how alcohol or drug use is related to their emotional health, or who want to learn how to access relaxation in their bodies. I have experience treating anxiety, relationship issues, depression, and chronic pain. If you're looking for help, support, or just someone to listen, I can be here for you to help you navigate life's challenges.

I'm a licensed clinical social worker, and a certified alcohol and drug counselor in Oregon. I graduated with my masters in social work from Portland State University. I frequently draw from therapies such as mindfulness based stress reduction (mbsr), cognitive behavioral therapy (cbt), dialectical behavioral therapy (dbt), and acceptance and commitment therapy (act). I also have a deep interest in somatic approaches to moving though strong emotions and strengthening the mind/body connection.

In my free time you can find me in nature, soaking up the sunshine or snuggling with my dog, practicing yoga, reading fiction, or playing board games with friends.

Treatment areas I specialize in include:

Trauma
Substance use
Survivors of abuse
Women's wellness
Anxiety
Depression
Relationships
Stress
Self esteem

Burn-out
Anger
Chronic pain
Systems involvement

Please reach out if you
